Dr. Tilman Otto is Vice President of Technology Innovation & Incubation at Topcon, where he drives strategic innovation initiatives in ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic technologies. With 30 years of experience in optical coherence tomography (OCT), retinal imaging, and real-time image processing, he has played a key role in advancing diagnostic imaging solutions for ophthalmology.

Before joining Topcon in 2025, Dr. Otto held leadership roles at Heidelberg Engineering, where he led research and development teams and spearheaded technology innovation. He is an inventor on multiple international patents, including core technologies for eye tracking in OCT systems, and has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Otto’s expertise spans system design, optical imaging, software development, and the translation of breakthrough imaging concepts into clinically impactful products.
