Ravi S. Jonnal

Bio

Ravi Jonnal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science and co-director of the Center for Human Ophthalmic Imaging Research (CHOIR) at the University of California, Davis. He is also a member of the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group (BMEGG). He has expertise in adaptive optics retinal and optical coherence tomography, and is a pioneer in the field of optoretinography. His group conducts NIH-funded research into the optical signatures of neural signaling in the retina, and how these responses are affected by normal homeostatic changes in the healthy retina as well as disease processes. They approach these problems using three main technologies: custom clinical OCT; high-speed adaptive optics OCT; and full-field swept-source OCT with adaptive optics and digital aberration correction.
