Dr Amanda Carr is an associate professor and principal investigator at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. Her research investigates the mechanisms of disease and ageing in the retinal pigment epithelium, developing new vitro models using patient derived stem cells. These studies aim to understand the molecular pathology underlying inherited and degenerative diseases, ultimately leading to the development of new treatment strategies.
